Aniimo is not another collection game where you throw a ball and watch from the sidelines. The defining mechanic is Twining: your Pathfinder physically merges with a creature and takes control of it. You cross canyons on a glider, burrow underground as a digging creature, or sprint across grassland fused with a fire lion.
That turns every creature from a stat-sheet entry into a tool for exploration. Idyll is built around vertical traversal, underwater zones and hidden caves. Creatures are collected for movement and puzzle-solving as much as for combat.
Developed by Pawprint Studio, Aniimo is free to play with cross-platform support. A sky-floating metropolis acts as the social hub where Pathfinders gather, trade, and compete.
What Twining actually gets you

Travel the map the way the creature does
Fly, glide, swim, burrow and dash across Idyll's biomes using the abilities of whatever you have twined with.

Fight as the creature, or direct it
Fight directly in Bonding Mode, or stay back and issue commands in Command Mode and let the creature do the work.

See the world from another perspective
Creature-sight reveals paths and mechanisms a Pathfinder alone cannot reach, which is how several of the world's hidden areas open up.
Your first hour in Idyll
The single biggest mistake new Pathfinders make is treating Aniimo like a creature collector where you command from the sidelines. It is not. Twining is the game · you physically merge with a creature and take its movement abilities. If your first hour ends with Twining feeling natural, the rest of the world opens up.

- What is Aniimo?
- Aniimo is a free-to-play open-world creature collecting RPG developed by Pawprint Studio. You play as a Pathfinder exploring the continent of Idyll, discovering creatures and Twining with them to gain unique abilities like flight, digging, and dashing.
- When did Aniimo release?
- Aniimo launched on PC and consoles on September 16, 2026, and is now live on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The mobile version released across iOS and Android on September 23, 2026, with pre-download available from September 22.
- How does the fusion system work?
- Twining is Aniimo's core mechanic. You can merge with creatures you've collected to inherit their abilities. Each creature offers different skills: some let you fly, others let you dig underground or dash through terrain. You can also see the world through the creature's perspective to solve puzzles.
- Is Aniimo multiplayer?
- Yes. Aniimo features both cooperative and competitive multiplayer. You can summon other players using instruments like flutes and horns, explore the open world together, or compete in the Diamond Egg Heist PvP mode.
